A downloadable game for Windows

A rather simple board game to pass time. You can also play this irl if you like - all you need is a chessboard, two figures and 18 dice :)

After a late-night working session, I managed to use Launch4J to wrap the files into an actual .exe file. I'm not sure if the zip-folder actually works, you'd need something like Eclipse or IntelliJ to import it, but nobody who imported it had been able to execute it :/ Therefore the .exe.

Objective of the game:

Reach more Target Tiles then the opponent by placing your player character on these tiles. They can be seen as X on the board

You achieve that by placing and chaining your dice on the board and moving your character on them. The opponent(s) can only see the dice you have that are already placed on the gameboard.

How to move a die:

A die can be placed on any tile that, at the start of the turn, is adjacent to a die that

a) belongs to the current player, and

b) is ajacent to a die that’s currently placed on the gameboard. That includes the die that is going to be moved as well, aka a die can be picked up and placed next to where it just was on the board.

The spots where a die can currently be placed are marked with red targets on the gameboard at the start of every turn.

How to move the player:

a) establish a dice chain

The player character can be freely moved from dice to dice as long as those are connected via a dice chain. To move the player, one die that’s currently on the board has to be removed. The player will then move the number of tiles equivalent to the number on the die. Then the die will be rerolled and placed into the collection. Diagonal movement is not possible. To make a normal move, drag the die you want to use into the blue field on the top of your dice collection.

b) teleportation

If four dice of the same number are placed anywhere on the board, and the player is located on one of these dice. Said player can be moved from one dice to another. Doing so requires the removal of the 2 dice that the player does not interact with, from the board. To teleport, drag and place the two dice you want to use into the two fields in blue next to each other above your dice collection.

c) double move

If both a die and another die with the same number but one higher are placed on the gameboard, the die with the lower number can be used and rerolled to move the die with the higher number once without the current turn ending. A die with a number of six can be used to move a die with a number of one. To do a double move, drag and place it in the yellow field above your dice collection.

Sabotage:

You can remove an opponents die by placing a die of equivalent number in the same row or column as the opponents die. When an opponent’s die is removed, said opponent cannot place a die in the same spot for one turn

Adjacent Mode and Opposite Mode:

In Adjacent Mode, you and your opponent(s) start on the same side of the gameboard. In Opposite Mode, you start on opposite sides. The target tile placement is adjusted for each of these modes.

Thank you to my buddy Red Hat for helping me word some of these rules :3

I'm going to translate this project into C# in the near future and remake it in Unity so people don't need Eclipse or IntelliJ to play it. Hope you're having fun playing the game <3
And shoutouts my friends AshyNyuu and HunnyDragon who are currently making their own game, ShoSakyu

Install instructions

Just download the .exe-file and you should be able to run it without issues. On platforms that don't take any issues with .exes that is :) At some point I want to translate this into C# in Unity, then you should have even less problems running the game
